Russ Faught of Lodi was our big fish winner: 26.1 oz. 17"

139 Total Entries. Elevation is 6000+- feet above sea level. This provided a very nice breake from the near 100? Valley heat. Fishing this Kokanee-rich lake was fantastic as reported by those who entered the derby. The most productive areas were in front of the dam, around the island and the north shore line to the mount of the Little Truckee. 45' to 60' was the preferred depth.

Vance's Dodgers, Double Jack Blade, Double Trouble "R" Dodger, Shasta Tackle Sling Blade and Sep's Side Kick Attractyors were used by most anglers. Paul Kneelands winning Kokanee was on a Vance's Sockeye Slammer II, flame orange. Tom Hamada won the Pro Division on Keith Kerrigan's Double Spinner rig. Dick Murphy Gugs provided good results for many anglers. The morning bite was best on pink lures (bugs, spinners, etc.) Mid-AM the kokanee went for white and soft freens and mid-day orange paid off. Of the many bugs, Marni Bugs, Murphy Bugs, Vance's Bugs, Kerrigan's Bugs, and Hewlett Bugs were the hot bugs. In spinners Kerrigan's, Uncle Larry's, Murphy's, R&K and various homemade rigs were reported. Pro-Cure scents in a wide variety of formulas is the number one choice of kokanee anglers on any lake where kokanee exist.
