Oroville Silver's

Postby Randy B » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:35 am

With the break in the weather we were able to get some fishing in at Oroville yesterday. We launched about 9:15 at Bidwell and with a Bass turny going on the parking lot was full! The lake is still very low. We started trolling right out of the house boat area and the first hit came within 5 minutes. The silver’s are plentiful but still small 12 to 13 inches. We had our limits (15) by 1:30. We lost as many as we boated! All fish were hooked between the surface and 20ft deep. Pink grubs, orange grubs fished naked were the #1 lures, White and chrome Apex did good also. Trolling speed was 2 mph. Most fish were taken around the Hwy 162 Bridge.
Thanks Larry and Mike I had a great time!

There's alot of them in the lake and by this summer we should be able to zero in on the larger one's that go about 4+lbs...The bass fishermen are catching as many coho as they are catching bass their now...Should be a great summer on Oroville again this year...The lake is rising over a foot per day now and with these storms coming in it should get close if not all the way full in the next couple of months.
