Well, the second egg collection at Taylor Creek yesterday was even more successful than last week! According to SJ, the eggs are in fantastic shape and a little larger than last year coming in at 268 per fluid oz. The take was 766,480!

Tomorrow the plan is to finish the year back at the Little Truckee by taking 400,000 more eggs and pulling the weirs. Those of you adding up the numbers will notice that this is an increase over recent years by 20% plus. Maybe we'll get some "new" water?? :)

As always, Thanks Much!

The final kokanee egg collection for 2009 took place last Thursday yielding an additional 387,662 eggs. This brings the total take to 1,811,762. What a tremendous effort by everyone who participated.

The next phase is in "high-gear" at the San Joaquin Hatchery where the sorting and culling continues on a daily basis. Contact Directors Jake Flohr or LittleJohn Lico if you would like to help out. This too is a great opportunity to be part of a most worthwhile project.

Thanks again,
